Hunting for the serious game bird collector
Scotland is home to two main partridge species with the Red-Legged Partridge being most commonly found along with occasional Grey Partridge. Ringneck pheasants are also a popular game bird to provide a very well rounded day of upland hunting. Most areas will provide opportunities for Wood Pigeons or separate hunts can also be done. Partridge and pheasant hunting is typically done by a group of hunters walking in a horizontal line, flushing birds along the way. Wood pigeons are most enjoyable when sitting along a tree line for a great pass shooting experience. Later in the season, hunts for European Woodcock are very successful.
